On 10/31/16 Pope Francis held an ecumenical service in Sweden between Catholics and Lutherans. That service kicks off a series of events that will lead to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. The Pope hopes to “undo the rift” that the Reformation caused between Protestants and Catholics. The question we must ask ourselves is why would Rome seek to “rewrite” the history of the Reformation?
