When God's Kingdom comes into our lives, we reevaluate our material wealth to see it not only as our ultimate security but rather as a resource to help others.   Gospel lesson: Mark 10:17-31

God's Kingdom has already come through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Yet, we continue to live in the tension of the "already come - yet to come" Kingdom of God as we wait for the Second Coming of Jesus. This message will focus on what the Bible has to say about The Second Coming of Jesus.

When we consider all that God has given us, our obvious response is to give him thanks. This week our Youth Pastor, Greg Osborne, will conclude our sermon series by focusing on how we give God our thanks by unleashing his love to meet the hopes and hurts of others.

Today, as we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving Sunday next week, we're going to learn helpful moves in being generous when we're giving God thanks with our treasure. When we consider all that our good God has done for us, our obvious first response is to give Him thanks.   We are beginning a new sermon series today entitled, "Give God Thanks" and we're very excited to have our good friend David Drees here to kick off the series. In this month of thanksgiving it is appropriate for us to explore more deeply how and why it is that we give God our thanks.  

Throughout his ministry, Jesus taught with words and by his own example that in God’s economy those who are considered blessed are not those we would expect to be lifted up as people who are blessed and noteworthy. It is the little, the least, the last, the lost, and the dead who are lifted up as blessed saints. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus sets us free from our bondage to sin, death, and the power of the evil one. On this Reformation Sunday, Pastor Steve refreshes this basic understanding of the Christian faith, what we call the gospel message. 

David Drees returns to St. Luke this week to conclude our series, Simplify: Practices to Unclutter Our Souls.    How do you view the Bible? What place does it hold in your daily life?   Through the Holy Scriptures God teaches, disciplines, sanctifies, and grows us in righteousness and yet we often neglect the ready and study of God's Word.    Today, as we conclude our series, Simplify: Practices that Unclutter Your Soul, David Drees will help us understand that the Bible is a pathway into the heart and soul of the Lord, and we have been given access to it!   Lessons: Psalm 1, Colossians 3:1-4, 15-17, and Matthew 4:1-11

Do you have someone in your life that you find it hard to forgive? If you do, then you probably know how this can complicate your spiritual journey and clutter up your soul. In this sermon, Pastor Steve uses the text from Matthew 18:21-35 to help us understand the practice of making room for forgivenss.

In our lives that often are overly-complicated, the simple value of being surrounded in vibrant friendship with other Christ followers so often is what sustains us on the discipleship path. Pastor Steve encourages us to grow in Christian friendship in a life group or deepen the friendships you have.

Fear can really complicate our inner life. Pastor Steve will explore the ways God helps us to face down our fears. Gospel lesson: Matthew 14:22-33

One of the great sources of stress, dissatisfaction and unneccessary noise and busyness in our lives is our fretting over our jobs and money. This week we will learn from the Apostle Paul about the secret of being content in all things, includingo our jobs and our income.

We learn from the testimony of Scripture and the example of Jesus, it is in the deserted places in our schedule where God fills our buckets. Pastor Steve encourages you to identify what streams of life-giving water that you can use to fill your bucket in those times you feel empty.

"Who do you say that I am?" The answer to this question lays the foundation for the Christian church. In this message, Youth Pastor, Greg Osborne, explores three key foundations of the church. 

All of us are leaders in some area. Today, Pastor Steve will teach through John 2:1-11 and share lessons from the Global Leadership Summit to encourage all of us to become the leader God is calling us to be. 

How do I know if God is speaking to me? Does God still speak directly to people? How would I know? This sermon will use the accounts in 1 Kings 19:9-18 and Matthew 14:22-33 to help us to understand how to hear God’s direct revelation and encourage us to do what God tells us to do. The everyday grace that comes when we live in God’s time helps us avoid the manic frenzy to accomplish that is our unholy ethic. What does it mean to live on God's time?  What is one step you can make to live more in God’s time?

Pastor Steve concludes our sermon series, "FAQ: Ask And It Will Be Given You - Answering Frequently Asked Questions" by addressing the questions, "Are Not All Religions the Same?" Some of the similarities among the religions will be acknowledged as a way of pointing to the reality and omnipresence of God. Christianity will be shown to be unique among all the religions because we are saved by grace. We encourage you to lay down whatever other “religion” you are holding unto to justify yourself and rest in God’s Amazing Grace centered in Jesus Christ.
