As I explained they are a playlist for every emotion and season - songs for a life with God in every key. This Sunday, Psalm 4 presents us an evening song - a song for peace, rest and sleep - even when the world is falling apart around you. King David, with more pressure and more enemies than any of us will probably ever face, can teach us how to trust God and rest even when the whole world is against us. Have a stressed-out loved one? This Sunday we will begin a new series in the Psalms and the first Psalm we will explore answers that question. This recurring series will take us through every emotion and season of life: lament and mourning, fear and anger, as well as joy and celebration. Pastor Bruce Garner // The last several people I’ve talked to have been under a great deal of stress. Perhaps you are, too. Consider this: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 That is the promise, and that is the reality of the birth of Jesus. We begin celebrating the arrival of the Savior this Sunday in all three services. Invite a friend. We all need to rest in the promises of our gracious, loving God.

Pastor DJ McMoil // SUNDAY: YOUTH PASTOR CANDIDATE DJ MCMOIL! We’ve had a wonderful week getting to know Pastor DJ, his wife Kristen, and their son. DJ will be preaching in all services this Sunday. He taught our junior and senior high Bible study this Wednesday, and I’ve never heard a room so quiet and focused! I know he will be a blessing to you. Please pray for our church family and for the McMoils as we continue to seek God’s will regarding the possibility of their becoming part of our pastoral staff. I promise I’ll keep you posted. For now, just bring your kids and friends - and pray!

Pastor Bruce Garner // THE GRINCH, GREED AND WHY IT MATTERS His heart was two sizes too small. That’s what Dr. Seuss told us might have been the problem with the Grinch. Thankfully, it all worked out for him eventually. Not everyone is so fortunate. This Sunday, I want to tell you what Jesus said when someone tried to get Him involved in a family fight over money. The combatants had the same trouble the Grinch was having, it seems. Before it was over, Jesus laid down a big warning and an eternal incentive for all of us. I can’t wait to share it with you!

The teachings of Jesus are always vital, but this passage in Luke is especially important. Fear of God (and people), suffering, and sin against the Holy Spirit, all in one epic warning laced with the Lord’s love and encouragement. Make plans to be here and bring someone who needs a word from Jesus with you!

Pastor Jim Gane // If you make it about you... you lose. It’s true. If you want to be miserable, make life about yourself. Life was not meant for that. Listen to Jesus quoting Scripture: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40 The Great Commandment is to LOVE GOD, and LOVE OTHERS. If you make your life about loving yourself, you’ll miss the purpose you were created by God and redeemed by the death of Jesus.

The Internet is a massive disruptive force, and along with the good has come a torrent of evil. How do you guard your heart in this environment? Pastor Bruce Garner // JESUS, THE TRUTH- TELLER There is a caricature of Jesus in popular culture that He was a meek, mild-mannered man who never said a harsh word to anyone. It’s nonsense. Jesus is far, far better than that! This Sunday, we will hear Him raise His voice against a spiritual infection that threatens everyone of us. Left unchecked, it will kill us and our culture. The good news is that Jesus knows EXACTLY what to do about it! Let’s worship together this Lord’s Day. Bring a friend!
