Jesus asked a question of the leaders of the Jews that they couldn't answer. The question was if David calls Messiah Lord, how is He David's son? Did you know there is an answer to this question? The answer is simple and yet hidden as well, but seeing it helps unlock much for our spiritual development.

Why would the enemy be able to take out such a great prophet such as John? How did an evil woman succeed here? Also, much as happens today, people come to conclusions based on no facts, just a feeling or a fear. We look at the problems that come from this and how to identify when it happens to us or others we know.

Looking at John the baptist we see how to deal with discouragement in ministry, and what to do when it seems like everyone around you (Christians especially) are either idiots or sinners, or maybe both! Both of these problems are more common than you might think. John dealt with both of these and we will see what lessons we can learn from his life to deal with these in ours. We all know we cannot continue strong if we are discouraged, but the second part is also a destroyer of strength and vision. Both have put many a person out of ministry and both are caused by something good, but if we go in the wrong direction it can feel like we are drowning.

Have you ever wondered where the ordinance of baptism came from? John seems to introduce, but no one questions it or even asks him why he is putting people under the water, so why were they so okay with it? We look at it's foundation in the Old Testament and also one other big question. John calls himself a witness of, but what did he see that he is a witness for? If John was a witness and testified that Jesus was the Christ, why did God have to reveal this truth to peter and the rest of the disciples? Hope your interest is tweaked! Here is the audio...

As they departed, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? What is Jesus saying about John with His question "A reed shaken by the wind?" We will look into this and the Prophecy by Isaiah calling John "A voice of one crying in the wilderness" as we continue the series on John the Baptist.

Looking at John's mother this time and the words of prophecy that came leading up to John's birth.

We are beginning a new series on a character we have not taken an extensive look at - John The Baptist. To start, we will take on some the events of his birth, the supernatural message sent to his father, his name, the office he stood in, and more.

Finishing the series on Paul's letter to the Philippians, we look at the context of this verse and what Paul is teaching us when he says "my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

In this midweek service we visit the topic of CONTENTMENT again, and also the often quoted verse "I can do all things...". The context and Greek on this verse can give us some great insight!

How do we find true contentment in life? Paul shows us in the next section we come to in our series on the letter to the Philippians. It does not come through the people in our life, the places where we live or work, the things we have, nor through how much is or is not in our bank account. But contentment can come to all if you learn and receive what Paul is teaching in Philippians 4:6-11.

Paul in Philippians 4:1 calls the saints there his joy and crown? What kind of crown are they and since we are talking about crowns, we will go over the list of heavenly crowns that can await us and what we must do to for them. Also tonight, a dispute between two important people in the church and the affect it had on them, the importance of gentleness, and of course Rejoice in the Lord always!

Philippians 3:17 - 4:1, looking at examples to follow, our heavenly citizenship, and a healing principle I have not taught enough but I will work to keep this very important principle in front of us.

Paul says that he is not perfected, not where he wants to be, but teaches us some principles on how to get there as we take up Philippians 3:12-16

Paul relates the body of Christ to soldiers in a battle, having armor, and even a mentality of a soldier, but how much of that soldier mentality do we have? Is a lack of it holding us back? How can we get more? The usual question and answer session afterwards was left on for you on this one, but you may have a hard time hearing the actual question.

"if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead." (NKJV) What is Paul teaching in this verse? Is the resurrection of the dead something we have to attain to? Does this throw uncertainty onto our belief that we as Christians are assured to rise from the dead? What is Paul teaching us in this 3rd chapter of Philippians? We look at this and other questions from Philippians 3:1-11

Paul said of Timothy that he had no one else like minded. What set Timothy apart from all others, including those important to Paul and the ministry?

How hard is it to "do all things without complaining and disputing?" I think we can agree pretty difficult, so is it an unreasonable comand in the Word, or can we actually do it?
