In part 3 of our series on relationships we learn about how important it is that we have relationship with people "on our path" and "along the way" We started our series with how we love our family. Next we said our co-workers and friends are placed there by God not only to teach us about the Lord but for us to influence them to come to Christ. This week, we talk about how to see every single person as begging for beauty - longing for Christ - whether they're in Asia, Africa, America... every single person is longing for eternity and longing for something perfect... rather someONE perfect. What can we learn from the first few chapters in Genesis?  Why is that God created us for communion and community with others?  What do we learn about God and about ourselves when we let people into our lives and when we engage with those around us? God created us to be connected forever. We simply aren't meant to do life alone. This month we're talking about the relationships that God has given us and how we are to relate to one another and really how we live out the Great Commandment to love God AND love people.  This week, Pastor Mark, our former lead pastor and now Pastor Emmeritus, opens the series with a sermon about the importance of leading your family into a relationship with Jesus. Why did God create man and woman? How do we relate to our kids the person of Jesus? 

God has a knack for using ordinary people to do extraordinary things! Miracles are on the other side of faith! But we’ll be tempted to quit. Don’t Give Up!

So many believers miss out on the JOY God intends for them because they believe the lie that life is meant to be lived for them. Find the wisdom, the gift given to Abraham that your blessing from the Lord is meant to be passed on to others! THAT is when you and I experience true joy. THAT is when we build the Kingdom of God - when we begin to look outside of our needs and our wants and let GOD birth HIS desires and HIS plan in us!  "The blessing is never meant to stop with you!" Living on a prayer!  For most of us that line sparks a memory; be honest, some of you just shouted "WHOAH"  For many believers sadly, they aren't abiding with Jesus each and every day, hanging on His every word.  But Jesus makes it clear that we can hear from Him and know Him each and every day. Jesus wants to speak to us about our day AND our future. He wants us to live on prayer. Jesus is the Bread of Life that we need each and every day. If we don't do this, we will be a self-made man or woman. If we take time to pray and seek His face we will allow Him to do what He did in Abraham's life. He said "I will make you a blessing to the nations... I will make your children numerous... I will make ..." We have a choice PRAY and let God speak OR assume Christianity is just a Sunday thing. (it's not =) Let Him speak and enter into JOY! 

What if you're not experiencing the breakthrough in your life because you're holding on to the past or holding on to sin habits that keep you from entering the future God has for you? What if God has dreams and plans for you that you have yet to see!? There's joy in the journey. Let's be open and ready for what GOD wants to do in us! 

What if launching into the future God has for you begins with surrender - laying down beliefs that aren't what God intends. God gives you a "new day with no mistakes in it" and a future that is BRIGHT! Jesus offers hope and not just for behavior modification but a NEW heart that desires to please the Lord. 

I wonder why God chose Abraham, a shepherd. Moses, a shepherd. David, a shepherd? Let's see!
