It may seem like a trite question but how do you know you want what is best for you? What if we spend our lives chasing something that will leave me empty? Is there a way we can better navigate the mystery of our own future? God longs to give us what is best for us, but it takes our participation. We don’t earn it, but we do have to do the work. How? And how do we know we’re on the right path? Join us as we continue in this brilliant letter from James, the half-brother of Jesus, in our journey toward real faith. 21.10.24

Who doesn’t have a time in their life when they wished they could take back a word/text/email? Regret around words is a human experience, and God wants to free us from accumulating regret around our words.  Join us as we continue walking through the letter from James to see how real faith changes how we talk everyday. 21.10.17

Our world is full of alluring imitations that eventually leave us unfilled. The same can be true of the journey of faith. Do you have real faith? How do you know? Why would you even care? I thought God just cared about a mustard seed of faith?  Join us as we begin a new series in the controversial and powerful little book from Jesus’ brother, James. You don’t have the emotional energy to do anything, but something needs to change. Where do you go when you feel like you can’t go on? As we continue to discover the story of the Spirit across the Biblical narrative, we find the Spirit meets us in these moments in a way only He can. If today, you feel worn by life— worn by your calling — and you don’t know where to go, if you have someone in your life who doesn’t know where to go, today we’re going to see what the H.S. is doing for you even in those moments. If you need hope, encouragement or faith, today is for us. 21.09.12

It is often our human friends -- our church family -- where we experience God’s presence together. But they will never be enough. We will never be enough. Our longings are too big for any person or people to fulfill. Even our best friends disappoint us. And even if they don’t. They will eventually leave us.We need this Friend, promised to us. This Friend who will tell us the truth. Gently, lovingly, pulling us out of our isolating regret. We need this Friend who will never walk out on us. Who can be yours forever through Jesus.21.09.05

SERMON NOTES: https://bible.com/events/48755394How do we begin to wrap our minds and hearts around the gifts of the Spirit? Well, Paul doesn’t want us to be uninformed. He starts off Ch. 12 by saying to the church in Corinth, “Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed.” By listening to Paul and what he writes to the Corinthians, we can get closer to wrapping our minds and hearts around the gifts of the Spirit. 21.08.29
