  • Result of Rescue: Hope [Romans 13]

    05/11/2023 Duración: 24min

Romans 5:1-5 // Nikki DiekerGod’s love has been poured out into our hearts. I have often found that it’s when I am suffering that I feel the love of God the most. Like palpably feel it. It’s because, in suffering, everything is stripped away, all the things I look to tell me that I am okay apart from God, are found lacking…and I have to cling to God, nothing else works. And when I cling to him…I find his goodness and his love there for me. Every time without fail and without disappointment. • Rescued By Trusting the Promise [Romans 12]

    29/10/2023 Duración: 35min

Romans 4:13-25 // Jonathan NeefIf we are honest, there are many places where we feel the “weight of the world.” Things are not the way they are supposed to be and they are overwhelming, chaos is around us, anxiety and angst seem to be our best friends. What are we to do in such situations? Today we are going to look at the story of Abraham and learn how to TRUST God and His promises for a way forward even when there seems to be no way.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49156855 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.10.29

  • Rescued Apart from Earning [Romans 11]

    22/10/2023 Duración: 35min

Romans 4:1-12 // Nathan MillerYou cannot have a relationship with anyone without trust. Trust is the currency of intimacy. But what does that matter to God?It matters to God because God wants a relationship with you. This is the story of the Bible from beginning to end.God created our world -- and humans -- as an overflow of His love. God is love, and He chose to create a place to put some of that love. But we rebelled against Him. Yet at His core is a desire for intimacy. God wants to be with you because God wants to be with you. God loves you because He loves you. Not because He wants something out of you. Simply because He loves you. But the only way into this relationship is trust.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49153310 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.10.22

  • Rescued through Faith [Romans 10]

    15/10/2023 Duración: 30min

Romans 3:27-31 // Jonathan NeefWhen people talk about “having faith” it often revolves around do they want something bad enough? Or do they believe strongly enough that it can happen? So often the conversation revolves around their effort for faith rather than in the object of their faith. Today we are going to look at faith and examine what is true Christian faith.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49146489 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.10.15

  • Rescued by Grace [Romans 09]

    08/10/2023 Duración: 37min

Romans 3:21-26 // Nathan MillerImagine if you woke up each morning knowing -- fully knowing -- that you are safe in God’s arms. That He delights in you. That His face lights up every time you walk into the room. That He’s just so excited to do life with you. You would live with nothing to fear, nothing to prove, and nothing to hide. And we can rest, that through God's grace, Jesus will make this world right. He’s going to make it ok. Just as He promises to make us whole, by the power of His blood, He promises to redeem all things. To make our world whole once more.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49142767 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new

  • We Need Rescue From Sin [Romans 08]

    01/10/2023 Duración: 30min

Romans 3:1-20 // Jonathan NeefPaul has been writing to the church in Rome where Jews and Greeks are fighting over who is right. Both of them think they are okay but Paul spends the first two chapters saying here is the worst case scenario you have brought up. And not only is that scenario true but It's actually worse than you think. He needs to continue to humble them and move them through grief so that they can see what they have not seen. So that they can see their desperate and dependent state. So that they can see their need and be rescued from sin.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49139446 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.10.01

  • We Need Rescue From Hypocrisy [Romans 07]

    24/09/2023 Duración: 30min

Romans 2:17-29 // Jonathan NeefOn November 21st, 1995, the DC Talk “Jesus Freak” album made this quote saying, “The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians, who acknowledge God with their lips but deny Him with their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.” Reports from Barna's research earlier this year confirm that almost thirty years later not much has changed. People still find the number one obstacle to Christianity to be hypocritical Christians. Today’s sermon we will discuss how those who identify as followers of Christ are in desperate need of rescue from hypocrisy. In other words, we are in desperate need of rescue from deceiving ourselves, trusting in the wrong things, and seeking the wrong praise. Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49139435 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.09.24

  • We Need Rescue From Religion [Romans 06]

    17/09/2023 Duración: 28min

Romans 2:1-16 // Nathan MillerHow many times have you committed the same sin? How many times have you judged the same person or people? How many times have you despised God’s rich mercy?Do you ever wonder why God hasn’t yet judged that person, handing them their sentence? Do you ever wonder why God hasn’t judged you? Handing you over to what your sins deserve? For we are without excuse. God, what’s the holdup? It’s that He’s waiting for us to repent. Oh so patient. Pouring out kindness upon kindness. He’s waiting for us to run from our sins. And run to Jesus. For …God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance…Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49135916 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.09.17

  • We Need Rescue From Death [Romans 05]

    10/09/2023 Duración: 37min

Romans 1:18-32 // Jonathan NeefAs counterintuitive as it may seem sometimes the worst thing that can happen to us is for us to get what we want. Our desires are so strong it can be blinding but when we finally get it, it can lead to death. Today’s passage will reveal how God gave us over to what we want but now we are in desperate need of a rescue. Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49132475 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.09.10

  • We Need Rescue From Idolatry [Romans 04]

    03/09/2023 Duración: 33min

Romans 1:18-23 // Nathan MillerThe gospel is God’s power to save us. What Jesus did for us. Not only are we rescued from God’s wrath. Which is amazing enough. When Jesus died, He suffered all the wrath I deserve. He took all that upon Himself. So that anyone who is with Jesus, is forever protected from the wrath of God. But we are not just rescued from His wrath. We are also rescued from the things that cause His wrath. We don’t have to live like that anymore! We don’t have to run from God. We don’t have to invent the good life on our own. We don’t have to give our lives to that which will never fully satisfy. Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49128954 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new 23.09.03

  • Not Ashamed of the Rescue [Romans 03]

    27/08/2023 Duración: 32min

Romans 1:16-17 // Nathan MillerWhat are your biggest regrets? Your biggest failures? How many times have you hurt -- deeply hurt -- the people you love most in the world? How often have you made a rule for yourself that you weren’t even able to keep? How many times have you stood before the mirror and thought: What is wrong with you?The good news -- the gospel -- reveals the righteousness of God. The rightness of God.He has found a way to forgive me of all my junk. Truly forgive me and cleanse my conscience. And begin the process even now of making me whole. While at the same time, maintaining His integrity of rightness, justice, holiness, and perfection. Of being a God who is still worthy of my adoration and affection.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49125556 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.08.27

  • The Rescued Family [Romans 02]

    20/08/2023 Duración: 33min

Romans 1:8-15 // Brooks NessePerhaps we come in feeling like we’ve squandered opportunity after opportunity, you come from brokenness, people have told you are not worthy enough to be received by anyone. But praise God it’s not about our worth, it’s about his. And that’s where the gospel breaks in, it has the power to break division between races, social status, and occupation. It even leads to Christ Community letting a Bengals fan preach on Sunday. If that’s not proof of the power of the gospel, I don’t know what is. Why would Paul want to preach the gospel to a group of Christians? Because they need it now as much as they did when they first believed and so do we. • The King Who Rescues [Romans 01]

    13/08/2023 Duración: 33min

Romans 1:1-7 // Jonathan NeefEveryone knows that feeling of desperation. Maybe it was when you went out past where you could touch in the pool before you could swim well. Maybe it was when the doctor called about the results of a routine test. Maybe it was when your job was eliminated due to a merger. Those moments of feeling the need for rescue. These become mile markers in our lives. Moments that shape us and how we understand and tell our stories. This morning as a church family we are beginning a new message series through the New Testament book of Romans. In this inspired letter we encounter the good news of an unfolding rescue story for all humanity including you and me. We are going to see that we follow a God who rescues.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49117562 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.08.13

  • David and the Census [David 13]

    06/08/2023 Duración: 32min

2 Samuel 24 // Jonathan NeefHow would you write the ending of your story? Surely you would want to be seen in the best light possible right? Well, the ending of Samuel shows David as the chief of sinners. But while His sin is great, God’s Mercy is Greater. Today we see the story of sin, wrath, repentance, and mercy. Praise be to God the mercy extended to David is extended to us through the cross.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49115212 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.08.06

  • David and Absalom [David 12]

    30/07/2023 Duración: 35min

2 Samuel 14-18 // Brooks NesseAt this stage of II Samuel, we reach what seems to be a total spiritual eclipse, where darkness seems to be so prevalent that you struggle to see a world where the God of light is working. But it's here in the darkness that we see God break-in in the most unexpected ways with the most unexpected people. But I will warn you, with all that being said, today’s story doesn’t have a happy ending either but I want to show you glimpses of God’s plan still pressing on despite humanity doing all it can to thwart it. But God’s promises are more enduring than the sins of his people. Our sins do not have the power to thwart the promises of God, therefore we have hope. Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49111479 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.07.30

  • David and His Children [David 11]

    23/07/2023 Duración: 41min

    2 Samuel 13:1-9 // Jonathan NeefSermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49108761 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.07.23

  • David and Nathan [David 10]

    16/07/2023 Duración: 31min

2 Samuel 12:1-25 // Nathan MillerSin exposed can lead to grace. When we get caught. Or when we have the courage to confess. It’s a wake-up call. It’s a fire alarm going off in the middle of the night, warning you that if you want to live, you’ve got to leave the building. It’s a light shining in the darkness. You didn’t even know you were walking along the edge of the cliff, headed for disaster. But now you can see the better way.For David repents. Which means he recognizes his sin (finally), owns it (without excuses), accepts the consequences for it, and turns away from it as quickly as possible. That’s grace. That’s the gift of God.And this same hope can be given to us!Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49098935 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.07.16

  • David and Bathsheba [David 09]

    09/07/2023 Duración: 32min

2 Samuel 11:1-27 // Nathan MillerWhere will I turn when I fail? The question isn’t whether or not you’re going to fail. The question is what will you do with your failure? Will you turn before you become the villain?Hiding always leads to more shame. Duplicity never leads to happiness. Self-justification only brings about deeper inadequacy.King David is a colossal disappointment. But he was never meant to be the ultimate hero we need. Yet, what’s so amazing to me, is that our God is so big, so forgiving, so loving, that He actually uses even this to bring about our rescue. And where Adam and Eve failed. And where David failed. And where you and I fail. Jesus succeeds. Jesus passes the test.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49098929 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.07.07

  • David and Mephibosheth [David 08]

    02/07/2023 Duración: 29min

2 Samuel 9:1-13 // Jonathan NeefWe are in the place of Mephibosheth. We are orphaned from our heavenly father, we are crippled and broken by sin, we are poor and needy. Yet God in his Love searches for us and seeks us out. He calls us to himself and lavishes his steadfast and enduring love toward us. He offers us a seat at the table, riches, an inheritance, a place in His kingdom. Why would God be so generous towards us? Because of His covenant and loyal love toward His Son. Just as David demonstrated steadfast love toward Mephibosheth because of His love for Jonathan. So also, in a much greater way, God demonstrates his love toward us because of Jesus.Sermon Notes: https://www.bible.com/events/49095509 Prayer Requests: https://ccefc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/2542/responses/new23.07.02
