For All You Kids Out There

Mid-week podcasts will continue until morale improves. Or news stops happening. One of those.

In Episode 251 of For All You Kids Out There, the Mets stopped making news after our two midweek episodes, so you can just consider them an extended first half of the show. We do add some thoughts on Chris Flexen, Kim Ng, the Marlins Roster Resource page, and George Springer. Then we answer your questions on Mets Kremlinology (one last time?) and a potential Michael Conforto extension (definitely not the last time).

We are not doing daily shows...probably.

The Mets had a press conference. And it made us...happy?

In Episode 248 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett have a very, very busy news week to cover. Off the top of one of our heads, well Harol Gonzalez has re-upped with the Mets as a MiLBFA. Oh, also Steve Cohen officially owns the team and has cleaned house in Player Dev and Analytics. We have thoughts. Minor League Baseball is changing a lot too. We have more thoughts. In the third half of the show, Jeffrey is finally Getting into Knives, and we have correspondence and a contentious AEW PPV review.

In Episode 247 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett discuss the final approval of Steve Cohen, new Mets owner, and his forays into Mets Twitter. We also look ahead to what sure looks like a slow offseason (although perhaps not for the Mets). In the second half of the show we have some final playoffs thoughts. And in the third half of the show we answer a question about the future of LOLMets and preview AEW Full Gear.

In Episode 246 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett discuss the playoffs (after announcing they won't talk about the playoffs), NYC mayoral politics, and instructional league video. In the second half of the show, they talk...well, more about the playoffs with Editor-in-Chief Craig Goldstein. And in the third half of the show we answer questions on different varieties of baseball cheating and what to do with BVW.

In Episode 245 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey would like a brisk discussion of the playoffs and the Mets ownership scuttlebutt, but Jarrett takes us on a whirlwind tour of personal pref lists and poker stories from the 00s. We do eventually get to the latest in Mets news such as it is, and then handle a four-part email in the third half of the show. That e-mail does not include G1 thoughts, but we toss those in anyway.

With the Mets...uh...not in the playoffs according to our notes, it's going to be a sparse news week for Episode 244 of For All You Kids Out There, so Jeffrey and Jarrett turn the agenda over to the listeners. We do have to employ Rob Mains for a particularly complicated financial question, although Jarrett is far more qualified to handle that one than the one about bands of the 2010s.

In Episode 243 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett break down where it all went wrong for the Phillies and Matt Klentak. I think we tie it back into the Mets around the 30-minute mark. We also discuss what a Lindor trade might look like, because there's a low of down time for a Mets podcast now, so might as well speculate on Francisco Lindor in orange and blue. In the second half of the show we answer your correspondence and delve deep on the changes to scouting and player development in the as of yet unknown new PBA. And in the third half of the show we go over the WON Hall of Fame ballot with Brady.

In Episode 242 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett spend the first half of the show on our end-of-season podcast tradition, spending 30 seconds* on each 2020 Met. Then in the second half of the show we chat about what Sandy Alderson as Team President might bring in the near future to Queens baseball. Finally in the third half of the show we answer some e-mails and name several dirt sheets. *There were 47 Mets in 2020 and this segment is over an hour, you can do the math.

In Episode 241 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett preview the 2020Jets season, lay the 2020 Mets to rest again, and review new PTBNL and old prospect lists. In the second half of the show, David Roth of Defector Media sums up 20 years of the Wilpon Mets in one Simpsons reference, and Jarrett goes deep into the annals of Mets ownership history. In the third half of the show we answer your correspondence and try to figure out what to do with the Mets corner bat logjam.

In Episode 240 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett have a nice short first half of the show planned out that gets derailed by a half hour on bullpen construction thoughts. We also have some more Mets Kremlinology, some breaking ownership news, and another Michael Conforto extension question to answer.

The Mets almost didn't do anything at the trade deadline. But then they did.

In Episode 237 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett discuss the weirdest Mets Kremlinology yet, Steve Cohen closing in on ownership of the team, potential deadline moves, the current state of the Mets rotation, and well a whole lot of other stuff we've already forgotten after watching two dire Mets losses from record to post.

In Episode 236 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and (mostly) Jarrett chat about the Mets Covid issues, the latest in ownership rumors, the current state of the Mets rotation as we approach the trade deadline, and Jeffrey makes the classic mistake of bringing up Sixto Sánchez, turning what he thought would be like a 75-minute podcast into a...longer one.

In Episode 235 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett survey the Mets pitching landscape after another bad week of Mets baseball. We also return to one of our favorite topics, Luis Guillorme, and one of our least favorite topics, the Mets 40-man management. Then in the third half of the show we spend too much time considering the BVW era and Jarrett successfully predicts the J.D. Davis defensive regression that occurred immediately after we finished recording. And we wrap things up with Miocic/Cormier III thoughts, and whatever the fuck is happening in the WWE.

In Episode 234 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett lean into the meandering barroom conversation vibe in the first half of the show, touching on Michael Wacha's injury, the Cardinals continuing Covid shutdown, Andres Gimenez, Jacob deGrom, before bringing back the Panic City Index. In the second half of the show Howard Megdal joins to break down the Mets ownership situation, and then we wrap things up with a third half of the show long enough to make Jarrett late for empanadas.

In Episode 233 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett consider what it means to be a Mets fans in the face of a cruel and irrational universe, not to mention petty and incompetent ownership. So we chat about a very long day for both the Metropolitan baseball club and team media strategy, review a week of baffling transactions and frustrating baseball, and even answer your Facebook questions. We even get a little philosophical as Jeffrey has way more bourbon than he has had in recent months.
