  • The Heart of the Matter - Part 62 - Hebrews

    08/02/2017 Duración: 01h02min

Rabbi Steve Berkson continues in the epistle to the Hebrews, chapter four, bringing a recipe for success which is the Word that we have heard, the Good News, mixed with belief (faith) produces an entrance into the “rest” that is the Kingdom of Elohim (Hebrews 4:2). The result of following this recipe for success gives the doer something that most of this world does not have which is hope. Hope in something that is beyond this present life; the future Kingdom of Elohim.Don't miss out on new teachings every week. • The Heart of the Matter - Part 61 - Hebrews

    01/02/2017 Duración: 58min

Many feel that the book of Hebrews is too difficult to understand. Biblical scholars debate and are unsure as to who is the author of this significant letter to the chosen people of the Creator. What exactly do you know about Messiah Yeshua? Have you “closely considered” Him and what it is that He accomplished in His first coming? What is the sure sign that you’ve discovered a true teacher/instructor for your walk? Why is the little word ‘if’ so significant? What is ‘rebellion’ and why is understanding it so important to us? Have you ever wondered about the term “deceivableness of sin”? Did you even know that term existed? How are you at ‘role-playing”?In this lesson, Rabbi Steve Berkson takes us to chapter three as he gives us perspective as to what was going on with our First-Century brothers and sisters at the time this letter was written and starts us on this leg of our journey in understanding The Heart of the Matter. • The Heart of the Matter - Part 60 - 2 Timothy

    25/01/2017 Duración: 01h05min

Moving through the Apostle Shaul’s (Paul) letters to Timothy, his disciple, once again we see the need for anointed and appointed teachers as Timothy is instructed to enlist “trustworthy men who are competent to teach.” Shaul uses metaphors such as being a good soldier and a farmer; do you know what these mean? The meaning may not be what you’ve been taught.Do you know what it means to “deny” Yeshua? What about the phrase ‘endure hardship in order to reign’? Are the Jews doing it all wrong? What is a “stupid and foolish” question?Don't miss out on new teachings every week. • The Heart of the Matter - Part 59 - 1 Timothy

    18/01/2017 Duración: 56min

Continuing our journey as we search out the Heart of the Matter Rabbi Steve Berkson teaches that this letter is different than the other letters to the congregations as it is a letter from instructor to student, master to disciple.Questions addressed in this teaching include:Is the Holy Spirit the only teacher we need? Why do we have so many differing teachings of the same topic? What does it mean by “they have missed the goal”?How do we respond to erroneous teachings?Should we respond to erroneous teachings? What does it mean to have a “clean heart”?What happens if you question something?Don't miss out on new teachings every week. • The Heart of the Matter - Part 58 - Colossians

    11/01/2017 Duración: 01h10min

Moving forward through the epistles (letters) of the apostle Paul we arrive at the letter to the Colossians where Rabbi Steve Berkson points out the various recurring themes throughout all of Paul’s writings, comparing things which are above with things that are earthly, righteousness with unrighteousness, that which is of life with that which is of death. Rabbi Steve shows how Paul was admonishing his followers to go ‘beyond the mechanics’ of Torah observance to an obedience from the heart, speaking and doing in the name of the Master Yeshua, with thankfulness to Elohim the Father through Him.This teaching is full of practical life application that can help you no matter where in your walk of being Torah observance you may be.Don't miss out on new teachings every week. • The Heart of the Matter - Part 57 - Philippians

    04/01/2017 Duración: 01h07min

Continuing on the journey through “The Heart of the Matter” Rabbi Steve Berkson begins this lesson in Philippians, chapter 4, verse 6, where the apostle Paul says, “Do not worry at all, but in every matter, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to Elohim.” We learn from this lesson that as we do what Paul said to do we are exercising our belief/trust, emunah, in The Father. Then we will experience the peace, shalom, that is beyond our human understanding, because it’s the peace that can only come from Him. He says that again in verse 9, which again is ‘discipleship language’, as He says to practice these things and the Elohim of peace shall be with you. This teaching is totally full of sage wisdom about personal relationships and how to deal with yourself and others according to Torah.Don't miss out on new teachings every week. • The Heart of the Matter - Part 56 - Ephesians

    28/12/2016 Duración: 01h02min

As Rabbi Steve Berkson concludes the letter to the Ephesians we understand that we are no longer considered Gentiles, outside of the camp, but through Messiah Yeshua have been brought together with the community of the chosen, fellow citizens, along with the covenants and promises. With that, we are to walk in obedience to Torah, imitating Elohim (5:1). What does it mean to be “subject to each other”? (vs 21) Why did the apostle Paul start talking about husbands and wives, children and parents, servants and masters? Is there more to understanding chapters 5 and 6 than what you have been taught previously? What does “do not provoke your children” mean? (6:4) What is the “Critical Transition”?Don't miss out on new teachings every week. • The Heart of the Matter - Part 55 - Ephesians

    21/12/2016 Duración: 01h08min

Continuing our journey through the apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, Rabbi Steve Berkson brings us into chapter 5 where we are told to become imitators of Yeshua Messiah as “beloved children” which is pleasing to The Father. Being a follower of Yeshua according to His own words is to no longer walk in darkness but possess the light of life (John 8:12). So to walk as children of the light is to prove it by doing what is well-pleasing to the Master. Yeshua said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.”Don't miss out on new teachings every week. • The Heart of the Matter - Part 54 - Ephesians

    14/12/2016 Duración: 01h09min

Now that Rabbi Steve Berkson has thoroughly taught us what the Apostle Paul was writing to the Ephesians in chapter two, he now leads us into understanding chapter three; the mystery or secret of what Messiah Yeshua accomplished through His death, burial and resurrection - that the nations (Gentiles, those who are outside) now have a place among those who are the chosen ones according to the flesh, Israel. Then Rabbi Steve moves us into chapter four where a problem with authority is addressed. Submitting to the right leadership, anointed and appointed, is the only way we as the body of Messiah are going to learn to love each other and come together in unity and be one. Existing today are the five ministries as listed in Ephesians 4:11, emissaries (apostles), prophets, evangelists, shepherds and teachers. These exist today. We must pray to the Father that our eyes are opened to recognize who these people are in order to properly learn for the sake of the Kingdom of Elohim. Ephesians 4:11-16Don't miss out on new

  • The Heart of the Matter - Part 53 - The Ephesians 2 Process

    07/12/2016 Duración: 01h06min

This is very unusual that Rabbi Steve Berkson would actually go back and re-teach a message, but in this case he felt the need to delve deeper into the second chapter of Ephesians to explain the process of righteousness and unity that the apostle Paul was conveying to the Ephesians. In this lesson you will learn about a dangerous and harmful teaching called ‘bilateral ecclesiology’ and something Rabbi Steve calls “New Doctrinal Understanding Crack”.Don't miss out on new teachings every week. • The Heart of the Matter - Part 52 - Ephesians

    30/11/2016 Duración: 01h13min

Starting in the letter to the Ephesians Rabbi Steve Berkson points us to the fact that the Apostle Paul was trying to help the believers in Ephesus that even with what Messiah Yeshua accomplished in His death, burial and resurrection there is still an “expectation” to abide by the covenant with the Creator that was laid out in Exodus chapter 19, (paraphrasing) “If you diligently follow my words, I will take you as my people and bless you more than you can know.” Rabbi Steve helps us to understand that we don’t have to “understand” every thing that we are required to do, but that in the doing we will begin to understand. We should have an attitude like Abraham in that whatever YHVH told him to do, even to the sacrificing of his son, he said, “Here Am I!” In Hebrew, hineni. This is what Rabbi Steve calls, “a ‘Trusting’ Obedience.” In this teaching Rabbi Steve explains thoroughly the famous passage found in chapter 2 and verses 8-10. Throughout this teaching the word grace is defined and explained as to whether

  • The Heart of the Matter - Part 51 - 1 Corinthians

    23/11/2016 Duración: 01h07min

What we find in this letter from the Apostle Paul to the believers in Corinth is that strife had risen up among the assembly over which teacher was better than the other and which teacher someone followed, turning it into a status issue. If Paul were here today and observed the strife and division among some of us, would he be wondering why things haven’t changed in the last 2,000 years? Would he need to be committed and put in a ‘rubber room’? What Paul had to address was that the people were boasting in men and how they may have arrived in some understanding that they judged others not to have. This kind of attitude is a condition of the heart and is not acceptable in the body of Messiah. If there is any boasting to be done, Paul says boast in YHVH/Yeshua.Don't miss out on new teachings every week. You are welcome to post your comments and please click on the "LIKE" button i
